Freewheel Feature for Rifton Adaptive Tricycle: Rest While You Ride
Discover two important updates to Rifton Adaptive Tricycles that enhance comfort and performance for riders with disabilities.
1. Freewheel Feature—Ride When You Want, Rest When You Need
Extend your outings and enhance therapeutic sessions with our innovative Freewheel system. This game-changing frame option allows caregivers to disconnect the pedals from the drivetrain with a simple flip of a switch located on the rear axle.
Once engaged, the rider can coast comfortably with stationary pedals while the caregiver pushes—perfect for when fatigue sets in or when you need to move quickly. It offers the ultimate flexibility: the exercise of a tricycle and the convenience of a stroller, all in one.
Note: As this feature requires a specialized frame design, it is available on new orders only (cannot be retrofitted) and replaces the rear basket.
2. High Traction Tires (Now Standard)
All Rifton Tricycles now come standard with durable high traction tires designed for adventure. These solid urethane foam tires provide superior grip on gravel, woodchips, dirt, and mud, while a smooth center band ensures effortless rolling on pavement.
Take your adaptive tricycle anywhere with confidence. Retrofit available for older X300 models—rear wheels install tool-free!
