The Rifton toilet chair enables safer, supported toileting and showering for people with physical disabilities. The accessories listed at left can be used to optimize positioning for your child or client.
Abductor for commode or over the toilet seat
A caregiver slides the white plastic abductor accessory into place beneath the Rifton toilet chair seat while the seat is mounted on the toilet.
The abductor provides comfortable knee abduction for clients who experience leg scissoring. It slides into place beneath the adaptive toilet seat and can be used in all Rifton toilet chair configurations.
Anterior Support
The anterior support accessory for the Rifton toilet chair looks like a small white plastic tray which attaches to the chair's armrests.
The anterior support is a small, contoured tray that supports the client's arms, enabling them to lean forward comfortably. A forward-leaning position is known to facilitate toileting performance. The anterior support is therefore not an activity tray, but a positioning aid to accomplishing toileting success.
Footboard of the commode
The white plastic footboard with blue webbing ankle straps slides onto the toilet chair rolling frame at any height.
The footboard is made of sturdy white plastic to comfortably support the client's feet during toileting or showering. It includes footstraps and mounts onto the rolling frame at the height required by the client.
Commode Pan
The white plastic pan slides underneath the toilet seat when the Rifton Blue Wave toilet chair is being used as a freestanding commode.
The white pan slides into place from either the front or the back of the rolling commode frame. It is 5¾" deep and has a handle and pour spout. Made of durable white plastic, it is designed to be easily cleanable.
High Back
A mobile Rifton Blue Wave toilet chair with the high back option, which is covered with blue webbing and includes 2 chest straps.
The high back is the only backrest option for the Small (E806) toileting system; it comes with one chest strap. The high back for the Large (E808) toileting system, pictured above, includes two chest straps.

When ordering any backrest for the Rifton Blue Wave toileting system, the purchaser will need to choose between soft or standard fabric backrest covering (see Features page, Fabric options).
Low Back

The Low back is an option that can be used with the Large (E808) toileting system only. It comes with one chest strap and is a good option for clients who require less support.
Deflector

The deflector is an option that can be used with the Large (E808) Rifton toilet seat only. (The Small (E806) chair automatically comes with a small deflector seat insert.) The white plastic deflector can be positioned after the client is seated. It provides maximum splash-protection and additional abduction.
Deflector

A pair of head blocks can be added to the Rifton toilet chair backrest to provide head positioning. They may also give the client a feeling of security while toileting or showering.
