The Benefits of the Rifton Support Station
The Rifton Support Station enables toileting hygiene to occur in a standing position, rather than in bed, on a mat table, or on the floor. Dignity is enhanced with this adult diaper changing table, since clients are no longer being changed like a baby.
- Allows for easier and more convenient hygiene care in an upright position. Adjustment of clothing occurs more easily.
- Greater ease in lifting and transfers. Opportunities for full or partial participation by clients in transfers.
- The curve of the padded support board is adjustable and placed at waist level and is comfortable. Clients assist the transfer with their arms, using the elbow curves, hand slots, or optional handholds on the padded support board. With the support board in the horizontal position, the client’s torso rests comfortably during hygiene care; no weight bearing is required.
- With regular use of this upright adult diaper changing table, clients may gain strength and weight bearing ability. Adjust the angle of the padded support board to a more upright position, for clients who demonstrate increased weight bearing ability.
- Can be installed as a stand-alone unit for use with a rolling commode, or as a transfer aid to a stationary toilet.
- The removable upholstery can be thoroughly wiped with a disinfectant solution. Product components are made of stainless steel and rustproof hardware, and can be washed and rinsed down.
- The padded support board and knee board fold up flat to the wall for out-of-the-way storage.
