  • Need a car rack for your Rifton Tricycle? Hitchrider.com model # HRT1-2T fits all our tricycles perfectly. Ultra-convenient, it folds up when not needed, tilts down for access to the rear of the vehicle, and fits both 1.25" or 2" receiver-style hitches.

Rifton Rapport Letter

Dear Reader:

It’s a beautiful thing when a child with special needs can be successfully included in a mainstream classroom.  But how can we help children experience not only inclusion, but also acceptance?  How can we ensure that children with disabilities participate as fully as possible with their peers?

This is one of the challenges that motivates us every day here at Rifton.  In this issue of Rapport, you can read about how the remarkable design of the Rifton tricycle helps children with physical challenges both build skills and keep pace on the playground.

Be sure also to read two success stories about how the Support Station is enabling a pair of dedicated students to enjoy increased independence and confidence in a mainstream school setting.

Of course, equipment is just part of the inclusion equation.  In this issue we also offer some excellent tips for better team communication, that can make or break a student’s mainstreaming outcome.

On behalf of the Rifton team, I hope you find these topics as useful and relevant as we do.
